The Year That Was..

So considering it's the last day of the year 2010, and a new decade awaits I have decided to be all reminiscent on the past year and all the crazy times I have had with my family and friends. This year had been deemed, 'the most important year of my secondary life' and in all honestly although it was a lil stressful at times, this year I felt more calm and collected as I approached my study and homework and honestly it was one of the calmest years of my secondary school as I was confident with most of my subjects, paid attention in most classes when it was required and balanced school with a social life that didn't involve going out and getting wasted.

Pre 2010 I had one event in particular to look forward to. Me being me- entering all sorts of competitions, made an ACDC TNT video in an effort to see one of the most recognised bands play at the Edihad (however you say it) Stadium. Considering that I was amongst diehard fans.. their lip-synch videos did not win over my dodgy, one days, scream at the computer because it was really dodgy, mis-lipsynched video. So on February 13th I had the opportunity to treat my dad... (who keeps randomly screaming ACCA DACCA like a bogan) to the experience... Besides being scared by the camera showing footage of the chicks of the crowd lifting their tops up, it was a pretty good experience and the year of 2010, I can finally say, I have been to a concert! LOL

And I was thinking by the end of the night I will no-longer be enticed by ACDC for the rest of the year I was completely wrong. Towards the end of that month, a whole collection of ACDC albums, merchandise, tshirt, a massive framed poster and a personalised frame which hangs on my wall saying "ACDC Black Ice Tour -greatest fan on youtube Australia 2010" explains it all! I entered that same video mindlessly thinking I wont win anything.. into a street team competition.. and won.. truth be told I don't really like that band.. so if I'm the biggest fan on youtube.. thats worrying! (but then again the band's target audience is 40 yr old computer illiterate males.. )

So the year of winning tickets continued to winning a double pass to the following events from memory..
Warriors of Brazil Opening Night
Tickets to Chicago the Musical in New York... to which was replaced by a signed playbill, CD, Chicago Bag lol
Souvlaki Hut Voucher
Fame the Musical Red Carpet Opening Night and After Party-thanks to my Dad's Aunty!!!
Wog Boy 2 Premiere-Jam Factory!!!!
Mary Poppins Red Carpet Opening Night
Kitty Flanagan's stand up show, "Lady HaHa" how ironic!
Il Dago 2- Now with Noodles
The Comics Lounge
The Loved Ones Movie 2 free tickets
Wayne Brady
AFI Awards Red Carpet- Meet the stars (previously blogged)

All of which I am truely greatful for however it is one experience which I shared with my dear friend Juliana that will never leave my mind.. of which my luck fortunately passed on to herself as she scored tickets to a test screening of an up coming film hopefully in early 2011 'Big Mamma's Boy' I was fortunate to be an extra in this movie earlier on in the year and the welcoming and warm environment of the cast and crew..ooo and the catering, left me dying to see the final result of the movie with a cast full of comedians and actors I love and had seen perform prior to the movie like Frank Lotito and George Kapiniaris. Despite Melbourne's weather leading us to colds and a yucky feeling it was most completely turned around once we entered Cinema Nova on Lygon St. Can't say much about the storyline as we signed forms saying we cannot disclose much info but the highlight of the night was pointing out to Juliana.."THAT'S MY NOSE" and the birth of the "Jade Shuffle" as Juliana calls it. as I was a dancing extra at the house party. Just seeing my friend in stitches of laughter was priceless as we attempted not to laugh at my 'legs' out loud. Classic!

Moving on the year full of adventures with Juliana to University Open Days from shielding Juliana from birds at stations, to us both getting adopted by a Maso- Greek lady on the tram from La Trobe to Parliament Station and hearing about her son a failure on Neighbours (tv show) of which we still don't know what his role was or if he was in the crew or a cast member LOL to her home in Fitzroy. Swinburne Uni from falling in love with the place because of winning an iTunes gift card for playing 'Hughsey Says' and "Heads or Tails' at the Nova area. To our hatred of Melbourne University for being so hard to get to and not even that good. (Well for media and film anyway). Oo and we cannot forget our RAIN-The Musical experience in the rain on Lygon St then getting sucked into an Italian Restaurant, forced to eat then forced to leave... LOL. Muckup Day, Graduation dinner car adventures with Yuliana!

The year of seeing dodgy plays from 100 to Silence for VCE drama to being amazed by a kids drama solo at Top Acts. Introducing my Nunna to her 'biggest fan on youtube' to insane drama classes and "I'm on a broom" Ordering Fish and Chips on any occasion for lunch, Tea Party, the craziness of Anastasi and Nigel... which may mean nothing to you but all these little inside jokes and references made the year bearable.

All the 18th Birthdays, cake, cocktails, dead birds on Torquay beach, D&Ms, Carnigie, clothing launch,  dancing, laughter and bagging of my jokes all have made 2010 memorable, I haven't mentioned so much  if I did I'd be here all year and completely waste my 2011 on the past. Live it up, enjoy life and laugh!

BRING ON 2011!

in briefs

Weekly update..
This week rather relaxed, went to the city with my sister and her friend to take them out on Monday whilst getting caught in heavy rain. Tuesday I worked and then went to catch up with some friends from acting school in Yarraville for a dinner and movie and watched, The Social Network, to which I was very disappointed as I felt it lacked substance and was just plain boring as if it was written my a nerd himself.
Wednesday we ventured upto Torquay to catch up with my friends who rented a house out for a week. It was great to catch up! Today I just went to Altona Gate with my Nunna for a little bit and have been planning out the ideas.. finally confirmed a filming location for the house! Thanks Nunna LOL. I'm trying to convince dad to take me driving but it's not working :( Wish me luck!

In a nutshell

Haven't blogged in ages.. in a nutshell.. graduation dinner, was a fridge for Wayne Brady, dehaired my friend, car singalong, work, vet, friend's 18th! Singstar, cooking noodles at a friend's and currently planning a short film. I intend to send this shortfilm into a competition provided I make the closing date! Been downloading some royalty free mp3s, I have a vague idea for what I want to achieve in the video, just trying to put together some form to the video on the theme 'italian culture.' I have realised that I wish that Nunna still had the woggy house but I'l overcome that hurdle somehow.  I've got the basis, and idea for opening/closing credits upto the 'filling' at the moment. Maybe I can use this blog a a progression diary? When I get filming, hopefully if I get filming, It will progress! Thanks for reading. When I know what I'm doing this blog will improve.

Ventilation

So today was expected to be really busy consisting of shopping, training at VE, catch up with a friend followed by a work meeting and dinner and movies at home to celebrate Mum's birthday.

It wasn't as busy because I had a break between each so I was kinda lucky. Anyway training was so much fun, neatened dvds and ordered them, returned movies, learnt some computer stuff it was good fun! It was my other work meeting that left me confused.

So my other job was very laid back and I'd been working there since the start so about 2.5 years now and I wanted some variation and I had flexible hours . Anyway they sold the busy so now we have a new boss as of next week. Fair enough but then I realise I can't get flexible hours no more and that we are all on "trial" so the years of experience I worked up are now pretty much invalid and there is more of a chance that anyone can get dismissed without notice because its a trial. So I haven't technically got the job I have had for 2.5 years anymore?? It's a three month trial. That's a bit rubbish isn't it?? So now I've got 2 trial jobs.. so much for job security! So hopefully I don't screw up both! I'm most likely overreacting.. but I'm wog, and I'm Jade so what do you expect! But we have to now do all this online training which I kind of did a while back, but it's not necessary RFG just make us do rubbish, everyone knows knowing the name of a part on a coffee machine doesn't improve your coffee whether you call it a hopper or bean holding container. Soooo much for having an empty brain these holidays. Ooo and despite that apparently  the new owner and his son will be the only ones making Coffee when they work because they can make 100 Coffee's in an hour... it's quality, not speed! And for the record I have NEVER had a customer upset or leave because they have had to wait 2 minutes for a coffee. (oo and being on trial means I get "trial  pay" getting ripped off even more...even better...NOT) I guess because we all worked together, had full responsibility and pretty much entirely managed the shop ourselves as a team being restricted for doing something that we used to do quite freely is annoying. So not having the inderpendance and trust is going to annoy me a bit especially since I am more than capable of doing stuff. It does however makes me laugh how they want to start with 5 people in the store... DUDE you cannot fit 5 ppl in that tiny shop, 3 is max! I know its an OH&S issue, knock out one another. We also got a lecture on manners.. weirdo. Now my shifts are going to be spread out and all over the place so I can't knock them out in a full day or 2's shift. Life, is unfair.

Just a rant, basically just my thoughts at the meeting my mind will probably change, might leave, I don't know.. I guess I can't really judge if I haven't had a shift under there management yet. But anyway that is what was going through my head, and the ENGLISHES is poor I can't be bothered formalising it, that's my argument tone.
So I guess I should...

Free!

I think the title has been said numerous times throughout the last 2 weeks from year 12s and so I think it's appropriate to be said once more..
As of 5:15 yesterday my high school exams had been completed! Stress had left and so did everything else that lingered in my brain. For once did having an empty mind not freak me out but excite me as now I have time to fill it up! Finished the day chilling and watching Underbelly and I must say I have never felt so stress free in my life for quite some time!

Despite mentioning how free I feel, I still have a whole list to occupy myself with for the break but it is of things that I wish to do like, make a short film etc. I also got a job at the local video shop. I already have a job but it really annoys me so for the time being I'l keep the two.. (if the pay is good for the second job). I have been craving free time and this week does not resemble that at all! I have work, work meeting, meet up with a friend, friend's 18th (gotta love 18th Parties), another friend's 18th, Mum's Birthday, Graduation Dinner, a friend's going away celebration and that is just to name a few! I really want to get cracking on this film idea of mine so I might start tonight after the Packed to the Rafters Finale.

Anyway I started my new job today, so much to learn, so much to do, but it is great not having to work with food. Also have to learn computer systems, thank god for year 9 I.T. I can work Access.. Speaking of Access that's ANOTHER thing to the list, organise the DVDS at home! I'm looking forward to the upcoming weeks, even though I'm not going to schoolies, I won't fee3l guilty for indulging on video games and bludging around and can FINALLY fill all those photo albums and frames with photos that have been sitting around since June this year!

Acting school was amazing tonight, I usually am hopeless with script work, but for 2 classes we have been working on little audition pieces and when I performed it today for once it didn't seem fake or theatricalised. It was a scene between two sisters and my character was the one who had sex with some recently divorced man. It was from the Aussie film, Love Serenade, 1996. I ALWAYS cop the weird roles! In saying that, I really enjoyed this scene it had a turning point in the mood basically being sisters arguing so it was easy to find a connection! We also had a freeze tag round in class that was without a doubt, the funniest run ever!

That's my day..

Early stages yet for this blog, hopefully my writing will progress and be of an interest to you. It's just like an online journal I think. I haven't really set a theme to this blogspot yet so for now ITS ALL ME! Myspace to brag, vent, complain and talk about all stuff JADEYPOX
